Ek Phnom Temple or Ek Phnom Pagoada is the most visited attractions in Battambang Province. Ek Phnom Temple is about 10km north of the city of Battambang with the travel duration of about 45 minutes. Ek Phnom Temple was built in 11th century and is located on the left bank of Sangkae River. Ek Phnom Temple is 52m by 49m. This temple is an impressive but extremely dilapidated temple situated next to a large pond and behind a gargantuan Buddha statue. Moreover, in front of Ek Phnom Temple is a colorful modern pagoda Wat Ek Phnom, completed in 2003 and has one of the most complete collections of Buddhist wall and ceiling paintings in the country. The temple is picturesque at sunset and has peaceful atmosphere.
